Ethel Augusta Morris, wife of Manly Alexander, was the youngest child of Edd and Mary Morris, born on what is known as the Brooks farm near Pierceville, Van Buren County, Iowa, Nov. 15, 1887. When about 6 years old with the rest of the family they moved to the old Morris homestead where she has ever since made her home. They moved at once to the home of the wife's parents and here there was born to them little Hesper two years old and the infant daughter March 25, 1912, so soon kissed away like a golden dew drop by the sun. She has never been rugged, and one year ago she began failing rapidly and the past three weeks has been confined to her bed, the end was not unexpected, and she passed peacefully away Monday morning April 8 at 5:30, being 24 years 4 months and 24 days old. She leaves husband, daughter Hesper, sisters Mrs. Lottie Roberts, Mrs. Mabel Huff, father, mother, besides a wide circle of relatives and friends. E.S Hohner at the organ and leading.
