LEONARD HARVEY HARRIS

Leonard Harvey Harris of Keokuk, formerly of Bonaparte, died Monday, Sept. 5 at 5 a.m. He had been seriously ill four months.

Born March 10, 1894 in Bonaparte, he was the son of George and Ella Parker Harris.

He was formerly employed as a shipping clerk at Irvin-Phillips Co., Keokuk, and had retired two years ago.

On Nov. 30, 1916 at Keokuk he married Vera Chase of Bonaparte. He was a member of the First Baptist church.

He is survived by his wife, a son Joseph of Keokuk, three grandchildren, Karen, Keith and Bruce Harris of Keokuk, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a son John and a brother Harry.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. in DeJong's Funeral Home, Keokuk, with the Rev. B.L. Sweeney officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte cemetery.
