OHIO MURPHY

Ohio Murphy, 72, retired farmer, died Thursday, Sept. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital. He suffered a heart attack two hour earlier.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Keosauqua Christian Church. Burial was in Fellows Cemetery.

Murphy was born May 6, 1894, near Keosauqua, the son of Fred and Jalina King Murphy. He was married Dec. 25, 1918 to Hazel Arnold, who survives.

Also surviving are two brothers and one sister: Charlie Murphy of Pulaski, Morris Murphy of Keosauqua and Mrs. Iva Baird of Farmington. One sister is deceased.

Murphy farmed until his retirement in 1960.
