Mrs. Russell B. Winslow

Mrs. Russell B. Winslow, 71, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 26 in Jefferson County hospital, Fairfield, after a 3-week illness.

Patti V. Sherman, daughter of Thomas Albert and Emma Cook Sherman, was born at Argonia, Kan., on Nov. 20, 1892, and was married to Mr. Winslow on Oct. 12, 1919.

He survives, as do two daughters, Mrs. Jeanne Martin of Delavan, Wis., and Mrs. Dixie Smutz of Columbus, Ohio, and nine grandchildren.

Three sisters also survive: Mrs. Helen Ferguson, Indianapolis, Ind.; Mrs. Corphine McGrath, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Vida Daggett, Kerkeley, Calif. One sister died previously.

Mrs. Winslow was a member of the Methodist church and of the WSCS of that church. She was a charter member of the Birmingham American Legion auxiliary.

Last rites were held at the Birmingham Methodist church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29. The Rev. J. Roland Crandall, pastor of the First Methodist church of Fairfield, officiated. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.
