Mrs. Helen Marianna Boss, 71, of Keosauqua, died Wednesday, July 28 in the Jefferson County hospital at Fairfield after a week’s illness.

She was born in Husum, Germany on May 28, 1877 and came to the United States when 15 years old. Her husband, Andrew died several years ago. She had lived near Keosauqua for the past 15 years.

Surviving are three sons, William and George of near Keosauqua, with whom she lived, and Alfred A. Boss of Carroll; a daughter, Mrs. Lyle Stover of Seymour, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Burnett Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Homer Dalyrmple officiating. Burial was at Manning, Iowa.
