WARREN E. SCHERER

Warren Earl Scherer, 86, died at his home north of Eldon at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 22, where he had farmed most of his life.

He was born Dec. 22, 1880, in Van Buren County, to Martin Luther and Francis Holtz Scherer. He married Lola Monerson on May 5, 1909, at the Ottumwa Christian Church.

Surviving are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Darline Eastman of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Pauline Bates of Eldon, and Mrs. Donna Mae Horn of Cedar Rapids; five sons, Burl M. and Donald R., both of Eldon, Raymond of Davenport, Robert of Moline, Ill., and Kenneth Charles of Agency; and one sister, Mrs. Bertice Bridel of Hesperia, Calif.

Services were held Tuesday, July 25 at 2 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Earl Menning. Burial was in Eldon Cemetery.
