Funeral services for Thomas (Tommy) Septer, age 7, of Mt. Pleasant, were held at the Bible Missionary Church, Mt. Pleasant, Saturday, Dec. 9, 1967 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Tony officiating. Tommy passed away at the University Hospital in Iowa City early Thursday morning, Dec. 7, after having open heart surgery the day before.
Music was provided by Mrs. Gordon Watts, organist and Mrs. Delmar Barton, soloist. Bearers were Douglas Stutzman, Terry Septer, Marion Conner and Wendell Conner, all first cousins of Tommy. Interment was in Salem East Cemetery with Beatty Funeral Chapel of Salem in charge of arrangements.
Tommy was born Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, June 26, 1960 and was the son of Mrs. Virginia Septer of Mt. Pleasant and Dale Septer of Salem. He was in the first grade at Lincoln school and attended the Bible Missionary Church.
Tommy is survived by his parents, a brother, Leonard and a sister Teal at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Septer of Salem and Mrs. Nellie Conner of Mt. Pleasant and great-grandfather, William Riley of Mt. Pleasant and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
