MRS. ALICE SCHMIDT

Mrs. Alice Irene Schmidt, 80, of Farmington, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 3:46 p.m. in St. Joseph Hospital, Keokuk where she was a patient since Aug. 5, 1968.

Born March 19, 1888, in Farmington, the daughter of James and Belle Hayes Brabham, she was a lifelong resident. She was employed in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, until her retirement. She was a member of the Farmington Church of the Nazarene.

Her marriage to George C. Schmidt took place March 5, 1907, at Farmington. He survives.

Also surviving are 2 sons - Carl of Farmington and Kenneth of Burlington; a daughter, Georgia Miller of Des Moines; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 3 daughters, 2 sisters, 1 brother and her parents.

The funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. was held Saturday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. in the Farmington Church of the Nazarene with Rev. C.C. Swalwell and Rev. J. Bryan Jones officiating. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery. Miller's Home for Funerals in Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
