Harold B. Sherwood

Word has been received at Farmington of the death of Harold B. Sherwood, 59, in Pueblo, Colo. Wednesday, Jan. 1.

He was born July 21, 1904, the son of Frank L. and Tina Sherwood and in early life lived in and around Farmington and Keokuk, Iowa and Kahoka, Mo. He was a graduate of the Farmington High School.

He was employed by the Metropolitan Insurance Co., until he moved to Arizona to benefit his health.

In later years he returned to Iowa and became associated with Boy Scout work in Colorado and Iowa. For more than seven years he was executive of the Ottumwa Council with headquarters in Sioux City, and then in June 1962, he returned to Pueblo, Colo., where he was assistant executive and director of finance for the Rocky Mountain Boy Scout Council.

He gave up Scout work in March, 1963, when he suffered a severe heart attack, from which he never fully recovered.

He was married Dc. 21, 1924, to Lois Nelson of Farmington, who survives, with one daughter, Mrs. R.G. (Charlotte) Wunder of Colorado Springs, Colo., and one son, Sgt. Richard N. Sherwood of Griffis Air Force Base, New York, and one sister, Mrs. Marvin (Ruth) Muhrer of Kahoka, Mo.; and a step-mother, Mrs. Mary R. Knight of Keokuk. Thirteen grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents.

he was a member of the Congregational church of Pueblo, and of various Masonic bodies.

Funeral services and burial were held Saturday afternoon in Pueblo.
