Rolland W. Ranson

Rolland W. Ranson, 65, of 637 Lakeview Drive, Ann Arbor, Mich., died Friday, April 24 at his home after a long illness.

Mr. Ranson was born on Feb. 9, 1898, at Hillsboro, Iowa, a son of Frank and Olive Crawford Ranson. He was a resident of the Stockport vicinity until 1937 when the family moved to Ann Arbor where they have resided since that time.

He and Blanche Barton were married on Dec. 20, 1916 at Hillsboro. She survives.

Mr. Ranson was employed in the shipping department of Argus Cameras for 20 years, before retiring from the firm in 1961.

He was a member of the Ann Arbor Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, William and Willard, both of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Dorothy) Beckington of Manchester, Mich., Mrs. Arthur (Betty) Gerstler of Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Waters of Huntington Woods, Mich.; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Martha Davidson of Ft. Madison; a niece, Mrs. Stan Lane of Stockport and a nephew, Wendell Davidson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 3 P.M. Monday, April 27, at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel in Ann Arbor with the Rev. John G. Swantk officiating. Burial at Washtenong Memorial Park.
