RAYMOND RANDOLPH

Raymond Randolph, age 74, son of John and Jane Harwood Randolph, was born May 18, 1895 near Bentonsport, Ia. and died Tuesday morning, Aug. 19, at 5 a.m. at the Davis County Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

On September 8, 1919, he was united in marriage to Birdie Emlyne Scott of Bonaparte by Rev. J.C. Coppoc. This next month they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Three daughters Pauline, Genevieve and Catherine, were born to this union.

He was a retired farmer and had spent all of his life in this area. While a young man, he joined the Presbyterian Church at Bentonsport. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of Beer-Barker American Legion Post at Keosauqua.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.

He is survived by his widow, Birdie; the three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Pauline) McNabb of Milton, Mrs. Leslie (Genevieve) Runyon of Keosauqua, Mrs. Bill (Catherine) Balmer of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Katherine Meredith of Wenatchee, Washington; four half-sisters; three half-brothers; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Milton on Friday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Herbert Phillips officiating. Burial was with full Military Honors by the American Legion at Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton.
