William Miller Madden

William Miller Madden, more familiarly known as Willie, son of William L. and Tunie Miller Madden, was born near Mt. Sterling, Iowa on May 5, 1888 and passed away at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital November 10, 1967 where he had been a patient for the past 12 days.

Mr. Madden lived his entire life in the Mt. Sterling area, having served more than 30 years as a Rural Letter Carrier from the Mt. Sterling Postoffice.

On September 26, 1906 he was united in marriage to Leona Grace Lee and to this union was born four children, Ernest L., Lloyd E., and Edith R.

Mr. Madden was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Grace, one son, Ernest, two grandsons, Kenneth and Billy Madden. He is survived by one son Lloyd E. Madden and wife Thelma of Mt. Sterling, two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Cox and husband Howard of Orange Park, Florida. Also surviving are 12 grand-children, 17 great-grandchildren, one brother Russell E. Madden of Hollandale, Minnesota, one neice and three nephews.
