WILLIE TWOMBLY

Wednesday morning of last week at [?] o'clock, Willie T., only son of State Treasurer Twombly, died at their home in Des Moines. The Des Moines Leader says:

He had been sick but a few days, and his sudden death was a surprise to all. He attended the toboggan slide one evening and contracted a severe cold, and on his return complained of feeling unwell. In the morning he was confined to his bed and the disease developed into inflammation of the bowels. The funeral was held Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. , and the solemn services were conducted by Rev. Dr. Friebi[?]. Deceased was seventeen years of age, [?] for three years had been a resident of Des Moines and a pupil of the East Side high school, being a member of the junior class. In Februery [sic] next he was to have entered the Agricultural college for a four year course, preparatory to the study of medicine.

The remains were brough to Keosauqua last Friday and interred near his former home. The many friends of the deceased and his parents in the county will be greatly shocked and grieved.
