MRS. NELLIE MAY ROE GREER

Mrs. Nellie May Roe Greer, age 73, passed away at 12:15 A.M., Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1967 at The Pines Nursing Home at Washington, Iowa following an illness of a few days. The family home was at Lockridge, Iowa. Mrs. Greer was born April 14, 1883 in Henry County, Iowa, the daughter of Hemphill and Mary Piper Greer.

She was married Oct. 26, 1916 to Charles Greer in Keosauqua, Ia. Most of her life was spent in Henry and Jefferson Counties. She was employed at the Ordnance Plant at Burlington during the time of the 2nd World War.

She was a member of the Baptist church at Lockridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 21, 1952, also by two sons and two daughters.

She is survived by two sons, Jack Greer of Winterset, Iowa, and Robert Greer of Fairfield; seven daughters, Mrs. Flossie Clark, Bonaparte, Iowa, Mrs. Catherine Hull of DeKalb, Ill.; Mrs. Delores Bell and Mrs. Nellie Goff, both of Ainsworth, Iowa; Mrs. Inabell Skeens, Portsmouth, Ohio; Mrs. Rosie Johnson of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Mrs. Mary Amlong of Iowa City, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Ella Jefferies of Farmington, Iowa; two brothers, Mr. William Roe of Ripley, Okla., and Mr. O.F. Roe of California. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 5, 1967 at 2 P.M. at Glasgow Methodist church, in charge of Rev. Robert McElderry. Burial in Glasgow cemetery.
