Roy S. Greenfield

Roy S. Greenfield, 74, died at 11:25 P.M., Friday, April 12 of a heart attack at his home in Douds.

The son of Cyrus and Sarah Nedrow Greenfield, he was born May 14, 1893, near Selma. His life was spent in Selma and Douds. On June 25, 1918 he was married to Marie Whitmore in Fairfield.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, Carl of Boise, Idaho and Gerry of San Francisco, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was a carpenter by trade and had a part in the construction or repairing of many local structures. This church in which we are gathered this afternoon was considered by him to be his greatest building accomplishmen(t) and stands as a permanent memorial to his years of service to the community.

Funeral services were held at the Christ Methodist church in Doud at 2:00 P.M. Monday with the Rev. Dennis Nicholson, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Charley Kunzman was the organist. Bearers were Rodger Bingaman, Robert Bingaman, Frank Caves, Ralph Caves, James Greenfield and Richard Greenfield. Interment was in Zion Cemetery. Arrangements were by Pedricks Funeral Home, Douds.
