MRS. ROBERT FRESHWATER

Mrs. Hazel Mae Freshwater, 61, of near Birmingham, died about 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Jefferson County Hospital at Fairfield.

The daughter of Charles Edward and Alice Stump Creek, she was born near Libertyville, Jan. 2, 1904. She was married Nov. 28, 1923, at Iowa City, to Robert Freshwater, who survives.

For 10 years the couple farmed northwest of Birmingham and prior to that resided in Birmingham, operating a dairy and restaurant.

Besides the widower, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Clifford Canaday of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mrs. Fred Workman of Fairfield; a son, Robert G. (Jake) Freshwater of Webb City, Mo.; six grandchildren, and four brothers, John Creek of Libertyville, Rollie Creek and Raymond Creek, both of Batavia, and Van Creek of Berkeley, Calif.

The service was held Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Birmingham Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald C. Wright of the Zion Bible Church in Douds officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ora Reep of Birmingham. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield.
