Life of Isaac Pence. Fairfield Journal, Tuesday, July 31, 1917, 4-4. Born in Montgomery County, Ohio June 17, 1836 (son of Samuel Pence, born Ohio, and Anna Mary "Polly" Tobias Pence), died in Fairfield July 29, 1917, aged 81 years, 1 month, 12 days. Grew to manhood in Ohio, coming to Iowa in 1857. In September of the same years he was married to Elizabeth Tobias who died in 1871. Six children, two living: W.H. Pence of Fairfield, and Mrs. Sarah A. Pade of McCook, Nebraska. On January 9, 1908 Mr. Pence married Mrs. Annie E. Thompson of Norfolk, Virginia.....Interment in the old home cemetery at Mount Moriah.
