Three different obits are found, note different spellings:

MARION EDWARD MCINTOSH

Marion Edward McIntosh was born Feb. 19, 1714 [sic] near Cantril, Ia., and departed this life after a prolonged illness July 26, 1945 at the age of 31 years, 5 months and 7 days.

He was confirmed in St. Johns' Lutheran church of Madrid, Ia., on April 21, 1935.

On April 17, 1937 he was united in marriage to Edith Beatrice Thompson. To this union was born three children, John Benton, 7, Jo Elaine 5, and Patricia Luise, 6 months.

His mother having preceded him in death he leaves to mourn besides his wife and children: his fother [sic], Archie B. McIntosh, and step-mother, Anna; two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Lorenz Reish of Prole, Ia., Mrs. William Degelan of Madrid, Ia., Therman of Farmington, Dale of Westgate, Ia., Archie, who is serving overseas, and Gene of Granger, Mo. He also leaves one step-sister and three step-brothers: Mrs. Clarence Kohlmyer of Waterloo, Kenneth Poling of Granger, Mo., Harold of Gulaw, Ill., and Craig of Waterloo and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

He was a kind and loving husband and father and will always be remembered by those who knew him by his cheerful smile.

Services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church at Mt. Sterling, Ia. Interment was at Center Chapel.

The Rev. J. E. Clark of Cantril officiated and the music was furnished by Keith Gaston of Mt. Sterling. Songs selected were: "Good Night and Good Morning" and "Someday We'll Understand."

Pallbearers were Messers Russel Heald, Charles Carlson, Sidney Sparks, and the three step-brothers, Kenneth, Harold and Craig Poling.

RITES SUNDAY FOR MARION E. MCINTOSH
Died Thursday After a Prolonged Illness; Survived by Wife, Three Children.

Funeral services for Marion Edward McIntosh, 31, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Mt. Sterling Methodist church in charge of the Rev. J. C. Clark. Burial was in the Center Chapel Cemetery.

He died Thursday at his home about two miles southwest of Mt. Sterling, following a prolonged illnes [sic]. He was born near Cantril.

Surviving is his wife, Edith, and their three children, John Benton, 7, Jo Elaine, 5, and Patricia Louise, 6 months; his father, Archie B. McIntosh; two sisters and four brothers.

MARION E. MCINTOSH

Marion E. McIntosh, 31, died at his home near Mt. Sterling, Wednesday, July 25. He had been ill about eighteen months.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Mt. Sterling Methodist church, the pastor, Rev. Clark officiating. Interment in Center Chapel cemetery.

He was born on a farm near Cantril and has lived in Van Buren county most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Edith; three children; his father, Archie McIntosh, and his stepmother at Granger, Mo.; four brothers, Thurman of Mt. Sterling, Dale of Oelwein, Iowa, Archie, Jr., in service overseas, and Gene, at home in Granger, and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Reick of near Des Moines and Mrs. Nova Dagilio of Madrid, Iowa.

Marion was a fourth cousin of mine. I have no information on his wife. I would like to correspond with others researching this family.
