MILITARY SERVICES FOR L. LeROY JONES
Service Man Died Saturday at Hospital
in New York; Burial Will Be at Douds

Military services for Lester LeRoy Jones, 24, who died in hospital Saturday, will be held Friday, August 18, at the Methodist church in Cantril. Services will be in charge of the Rev. J. C. Clark, pastor.

Music will be by Mrs. Frank Woodin, J. L. McIntosh, the Rev. J. C. Clark and Mrs. E. J. Hootman, accompanied by Mrs. George Cretcher at the piano. Pallbearers will be Stanley Barker, Walter Hootman, Lester Bennett, Logan Sadler, Weldon Hissem and Delber Plowman.

A military cortege from the Ottumwa Naval Air Station will accompany the body to Cantril and then to the Mt. Moriah cemetery near Douds.

The young man died at New York City following an illness of several months contracted about the time he returned home on furlough from overseas service. The body was brought to the Pedrick funeral home in Douds.

Young Jones was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Jones of Chicago. The family lived in Van Buren county until a few years ago. His wife lives at Farmington.
