Two Year Old Girl Killed In Accident

Darlene Tortat, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tortat, was killed instantly in an accident at their farm home south of Utica, near Pierceville, about 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16. The farm is about 8 miles northwest of Bonaparte.

Darlene, who was almost two years old, went out with an older sister to feed the chickens. An iron gate fell on her, causing her death. She is survived by her parents and two sisters.

The body was taken to the Crane funeral home at Mt. Pleasant.

The Tortat family lived on the S.H. Glendenning farm. They moved there in March, 1959.
