M.A. Cummings

Minor A. Cummings, 74, of Farmington, died Wednesday Nov. 23 at 4:25 p.m. in the Van Buren county Memorial hospital in Keosauqua after a five weeks illness.

Mr. Cummings, son of Robert and Mary Tompkins Cummings, was born July 18, 1886, southwest of Farmington. For a short time he lived in Bonaparte, but spent most of his life in Farmington and immediate vicinity.

He was a salesman and farmer.

He was married to Lulu S. Wendt, of Farmington, Oct. 9, 1907, in Fort Madison. She survives.

He was a member of the Farmington Methodist church, Mount Moriah Masonic lodge, of Farmington, and Lafayette chapter of Bonaparte. He was also a member and past patron of Mizpah chapter No. 24, O.E.S., Farmington.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Earl W., of Fairfield, and Albert E., of Lake Park, Fla.; one brother, Levi Cummings, of Bonaparte; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Riley, Farmington, Mrs. Lucinda Wallingford and Mrs. Verna Pender, both of Bonaparte. One sister, Harriet Reynolds, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. from the Farmington Methodist church with the Rev. M. Ellsworth Walker officiating. Burial was in the Farmington cemetery.
