Obituary of Sarah Alice Jameson

Sarah Alice Jameson, daughter of W.F. and Lucy Ann Huffman, was born June 4, 1862, in Lee county, Iowa, and departed this life June 28, 1929, at Keosauqua, Iowa being 67 years, and 24 days of age. She grew to womanhood in the place of her birth and on December 24, 18979, was united in marriage to Horace G. Jameson and to them were born five children, three sons and two daughters, one son dying in infancy. Mr. Jameson passed away in October, 1926 and since then she has been left alone. She has been a resident of Keosauqua for many years but was of a retiring disposition not making friends easily. During her last sickness she was converted and received the sacrament of baptism at the hands of the pastor of the M.E. church. She left her testimony as to the power of Christ to save. She leaves to mourn her departure, two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Henry Shafer, of Burlington, Iowa; Mrs. Guy McVey, Ft. Madison, Iowa; John Jameson, Milwaukee, Wis.; Wm. O. Jameson, Keosauqua, Iowa; also eleven grandchildren and six great grand children; she also leaves the following brothers and sisters: John W. Huffman, of Keosauqua, Iowa; James P. Huffman, New London, Iowa; Louis O. Huffman, Montrose, Iowa; Mrs. Sam Burns, Keosauqua, Iowa; Mrs. Frank Barnett, Hillsboro, Iowa; Mrs. Fred Frazee, Keosauqua, Iowa; Mrs. George Rudd, Montrose, Iowa. Funeral services were conducted at the home in charge of Rev. M.D. Cox. Burial in the Purdom cemetery.
