HENRY BUCHHOLZ

John Henry, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Buchholz, was born in Hanover, Germany, September 1?, 1845. When he was 22 years of age he came with his parents to America and settled on a farm near Farmington, where he grew to manhood. At the age of 18 he was confirmed the Evangelical faith.

On Dec. 2, 1869, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Woltje, who preceeded him in death on April ??, 1928. To this union were born children, Carrie, who died in infancy, Minnie, Chris and John at home and Mrs. Henry Schau of Bonaparte.

Mr. Buchholz was the oldest child of a family of five brothers and two sisters, the four brothers preceded him in death. He passed to the great beyond on Saturday, Dec. 2?, 1931, being 86 years, 3 months and 12 days of age. He leaves to mourn their loss four children, one son-in-law, one granddaughter and two sisters, besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were from the Methodist church in Farmington, Tuesday at 2 o'clock, the sermon being preached by Rev. J.D. Stevens, pastor of the church, text, Luke 2:29. The body was laid to rest in the Steinmeyer cemetery.

Henry Buchholz, our oldest and a highly respected citizen, passed away Saturday night. he has been poorly for several months and took seriously ill on Thursday, gradually growing worse until his death. Mr. Buchholz was born in Germany Sept. 14, 1845, and came to America with his parents at the age of 12 years. He was a splendid farmer and lover of home and company. The funeral was held from the Methodist church in Farmington on Tuesday afternoon with burial at the Steinmeyer cemetery.
