OBITUARY
Richard Johnston.

Richard Johnston, son of Phillip and Anne E. Johnston, was born May 8th, 1862, on a farm one-half mile west of Stockport, Iowa, and departed this life on January 1st, 1933 at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 23 days.

(On) December 24th, 1885, at (Utica), Iowa, he was united in marriage with Anne B. Miller, who preceded him in death on July 6th, ???9, and to their union were born three sons and three daughters, ??oyd F. of Stockport, Iowa, P. ???ford of St. James City, Fla., ??e H. of Birmingham, Ia., and ??de Smith of Stockport, Ia., ??la Miller of Centerville, Ia., and Aleathea Burke of Kirksville, Mo. He also leaves to mourn his passing four sisters, Eliza Van Steinberg of Cantril, Jennie Fickel and Leda Harlan of Stockport, (Jessie) Tull of Waterloo; also two brothers, Geo. W. Johnston of Stockport, and Edd Johnston of Plainview, Ark., and eleven grandchild. Dick, as he was familiarly known among his friends and acquaintances, spent his entire life in this community, except a few winters in Florida, but has always maintained his home with is eldest daughter, (Maude), who, after her mother's death, took charge of his home un- her marriage. He always called her home his home and during his last few months he spent them in her home, where she provided every care and comfort possible.
