Obituary

Died, at her residence shortly before non, Friday, Dec. 13, 1912, Johanna Wilhelmina Lerche (nee Kreikenbaum). Deceased was born January 13, 1818, in Hanover, Germany. She was united in marriage with August Lerche Oct. 22, 1849.

They came to America in 1863, settled at Franklin. The union was blessed with eleven children, of whom two preceded her, namely: Maria and Theodore. Her husband departed this life May 5, 1857. She leaves one sister, Miss Louisa Kreikenbaum of Franklin and nine children namely: August and Wilhelm of Farmington, Adolph of Ottumwa, Carl and Henry of Ft. Madison, Minnie Story of Chicago, Hannah Stirling of Wichita and Louise Hahn of Ottumwa, and Miss Sophia at home, who were all present at the funeral except Hannah Stirling. Funeral Sunday afternoon from the G.E. church, where a large concourse of friends and relatives attended. Rev. J.F.C. Trefzer conducted the services; interment was at the G.E.cemetery.
