Letitia Ann Baird was born in Athens Co, Ohio, Dec 20, 1832 and died in Troy, IA Dec. 4 1912, being 79 years, 11 months and 14 days of age. She was the daughter of Josiah and Mary Baird being the third child of a family of five children all of whom preceded her in death.

She was married to Uriah Law Jan. 23 1850 and to this union six children were born, four sons and two daughters. They are: Alonzo J. who died Jan 7 1902 at the age of 51 years, 7 months and 7 days, Preston F., V. L., and Mrs Flora B. Weyer and Mrs Lillie E. Garrett of Troy and Charles H. of St. Anthony, ID.

Mr. and Mrs Law came from Ohio to Iowa in 1853 and located near Pittsburg, Van Buren Co, IA. In 1857 they moved to Appanoose Co, retuning again to Van Buren Co in 1864 and thence to Troy in the fall of 1864 where they made their home for their remaining days.

The husband was called home Feb.27, 1897 at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 8 days.

Mrs. Law was a great sufferer during her last years, suffering from cancer, but her physical distress seemed to stimulate her spiritual vitality and even in the hour when severe pain seemed almost unbearable she was praising the Father for all his goodness and the many blessings which he was bestowing upon her. Early in life she had given her heart to God and had lived a life that had prepared her for death, which she looked forward to as time when she should be at home with the Heavenly Father where sickness and sorrow could not enter.

She leaves to mourn her loss, beside those named above, thirty three grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and many warm friends.

The funeral service was held at the Troy Methodist Episcopal church conducted by Rev. Jas A. Wilson after which interment was made in the Troy cemetery.
