EARLE WARNER

John Earle Warner, eldest son of Frank A. and Mary Thompson Warner, was born near Bonaparte, Oct. 26th, 1907, and departed this life March 17th, 1927, aged nineteen years, four months and twenty-one days. He was the third of a family of six children, and the eldest son; was born on a farm where he lived his entire life, with his parents, with the exception of the time spent in college.

Earle was graduated from the Bonaparte High School with the class of 1924. His school work was a credit to him and a satisfaction to his parents, having stood at the head of his class, and being graduated with student-honors, entitling him to entry in any college or university in the state of Iowa, tuition free.

He spent two years in Parsons college at Fairfield, Iowa, where he entered for a four year course. This had to be abandoned on account of poor health, and he later engaged himself with the home school with the view of teaching, but this plan too was defeated on account of his health, which grew worse until the end came to relieve him of his suffering, which has been long and intense, yet borne with great fortitude.

The whole-hearted manner in which he entered into his school activities, his studies and athletics, won for him a host of admiring friends.

Thus a brief but useful life is ended and the world made better and brighter and happier for its existance. A loving son, a devoted brother, and a true blue class-mate has gone to his reward.

He leaves to mourn their loss his father and mother, three sisters, Margaret and Helen at home, and Mrs. George Simmons of Bonaparte; two brothers, Kenneth and Ira at home, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.C. Droz from the Baptist church Saturday, March 19th, at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Bonaparte cemetery.
