Ellen Boyer, 88, of Farmington died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua.

Born Oct. 3, 1919, in Milaca, Minn., she was the daughter of Ed and Ellen Schelin Vance. On Oct. 12, 1947, she married Harley E. Boyer in Farmington. He died March 14, 2007.

Mrs. Boyer was a member of First Baptist Church in Farmington. She enjoyed flowers, cooking and being outdoors.

Survivors include four sons, John Boyer, Charles Boyer, Jim Boyer and Dennis Boyer, all of Farmington; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Vance of Kahoka, Mo., and Robert Vance of Farmington; and one sister, Rachel Palmer of Farmington.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild and her parents.

The funeral for Mrs. Boyer will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Phillip Schmidt officiating.
