FARMINGTON - Final rites for Mrs. Martha Batten, 67, Farmington, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington. The Rev. Scott Holmes will officiate. Burial will be in Greenglade cemetery.

Mrs. Batten died Monday, Jan. 21, in Centralia, Wash.

She was born Jan. 9, 1913, in Farmington. She was a retired employee of the Donnelson Manor Care Center.

On May 19, 1934, she was married to L. S. Saltzgaver. He died in February 1952. She was married to William Batten on Jan 23, 1954. He preceded her in death Nov. 4, 1979.

Surviving are a son, Larry Saltzgaver, Farmington, a daughter, Mrs. Carla Wiseman, Chehalis, Wash., a step-daughter, Mrs. Rita Cain, Mt Pleasant, two brothers, Paul and Dale Van Zant, both of Keokuk, two sisters, Mrs Lowell Martina Londrie, Keokuk, and Mrs. Wilma Norton, Orange, Calif., and 13 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Her parents were William and Heilie Mueller Van Zant. The family will meet friends from 7 to 8 Friday evening at the Hofbauer Funeral Home.
