Oitbuary(err) of Fanny Grace Plummer

Fanny Grace, daughter of Wm. Fulton and Sarah Frances Beswick Plummer, was born near Edina, Mo., Feb. 20, 1867, and departed this life at Stockport, April 16, She leaves to mourn their loss three brothers and two sisters: Dr. J.J. Plummer, Haley, Idaho; W. Pitt Plummer, Stockport, Io.; G.G. Plummer, Hillsboro, Io.; Mrs. John Benbow, Ft. Madison, Io. and Mrs. E.T. Brockman, New Orleans, La. Such was the reading of the brief obituary of Miss Grace Plummer.

Rev. John C. Bowles of the Friends church had charge of the funeral services which were held in her late home Friday morning, after which the body was tenderly taken to Ft. Madison where it was laid to rest beside her father and mother. Bro. Bowles took as the subject of his short but beautiful address that Biblical character, Dorcas, whose life was beautifully illustrated by the deceased.

Over 20 years ago Grace suffered a severe sickness which left her almost and invalid for that number of years, yet at any or all times she was cheerful and if asked "well, how are you this morning, Grace?" "just fine! just fine." What a wonderful lesson for we mortals who seldom know pain or suffering yet miserably fail to give the cheerful smile or pleasant word.
