Mrs. Emsley Canaday
Mrs. Emsley Canaday, 73, of Selma died at her home, Thursday morning, June 9, after a three week's illness. She was born in Jefferson county, but had lived the greater part of her life in Van Buren county.
She is survived by her husband and nine children, Elmer A., Albert N., Mrs. Martha E. Parsons, all of Birmingham; Mrs. Bessie F. Hootman of Douds; Mrs. Cecil P. Mannin, Fred W. and Blanch of Selma; Mrs. Ella Popejoy of Pleasant Plain; Mrs. Gldays(sp) Kiger of Ottumwa; one brother, Lafe Giberson of Stockport; twenty-eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Birmingham Methodist church in charge of Rev. J.N. Waterman of Selma. Interment was in the Spencer cemetery near Selma.
