SIX PERSON KILLED IN HIGHWAY ACCIDENT

Tragedy struck Tuesday evening in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ewing, of this city, when two of their daughters, a son-in-law and a grandson were killed in a head-on collision of two automobiles on U.S. highway No. 169, about three and one-half miles north of King City, Mo., about 7:40 o'clock.

The dead are Mrs. George Hunt, of Redding, her sister, Mrs. Merl Sisk and husband, Merl Sisk, and their son, Gale, of Grant City, Mo.

State highway patrolmen reported that the southbound car in which three Albany, Mo., men were riding, apparently went out of control as it passed another car and was struck by the northbound car, in which the Sisk family and Mrs. Hunt were riding. Two of the Albany men were killed and another critically injured in the accident.

Ambulance drivers stated that Gale Sisk apparently was driving the other car, a 1948 Ford club coupe, and that Mrs. Sisk and Mrs. Hunt were in the rear seat. They were returning home from a sale at Macon, Mo.

The accident witness by Ole Olson, who was en route to King City, happened when the Albany car passed him. Mr. Olson stated that the car would have had sufficient time to return to its lane if it had not gone out of control. Both cars were spun crosswise of the paving by the collision.

The bodies of Gale Sisk and Mrs. Hunt were removed to the Prugh-Dunfee mortuary in Grant City, and the bodies of Mr. and Mrs. Sisk were taken to the Andrews mortuary in that city. - Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Record-News.
----
Mrs. Hunt and Mrs. Sisk were sisters of Dr. J.O. Ewing and Loren Ewing of Bonaparte.
