OBITUARY
MRS. JAMES W. BACHELOR

Mary Ellen Fellows, daughter of Gavit and Josephine Fellows, was born, Nov. 19, 1863, near Keosauqua, Iowa, and passed away at her home in Bonaparte, Iowa, Dec. 17, 1929, aged 66 years and 28 days.She grew to womanhood in her home community and taught school in Van Buren county for 10 years. On Nov. 12, 1891,she was united in marriage to James W. Bachelor of Bonaparte. They went to housekeeping on the farm near Bonaparte and lived there for 17 years, thence moving to Keosauqua for a short time when they moved to Bonaparte, which place has since been their home. Mrs. Bachelor was conscientious in all her thinking and doing and identified herself with the church of the Latter Day Saints. She was a member of Magnolia Chapter, No. 276, O.E.S., and also of the Royal Neighbors.
She had been in frail health for some time yet bore her affliction with a Christian spirit. Death came peacefully and unexpectedely [sic] on the morning of December 17th.
She leaves to mourn her going her faithful husband, J. W. Bachelor and one brother, Omer Fellows of Mesa, Arizona.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, Dec. 19, 1929, from the M. E. church at Bonaparte, by Rev. M. D. Cox, of Keosauqua. Interment in the Thompson cemetery.
