Maxwell Ewing

Maxwell Ben (Max) Ewing, 48, died at his home unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 22 at 7 a.m. He has not been ill. Mr. Ewing has been an employee of the Barker Equipment Company for 17 years.

The son of Ben and Salome Maxwell Ewing, he was born Nov. 27, 1915 at Mt. Zion. His marriage to Tina Ward took place April 16, 1934. He is survived by his widow, a son, Melvin Ewing of East Moline, Ill.; a daughter, Myrna McCarty (Mrs. Robert) of Donnellson; a sister, Mrs. Isabel Loeffler of Birmingham, his father, Ben Ewing of Mt. Zion, and five grandchildren.

Mr. Ewing was a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church. The body was taken to the Burnett-Catcott funeral home in Keosauqua. Services here held Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Christian church, with Rev. Jack Armstrong officiating. Bural [Burial] was in Oak Lawn cemetery.
