Thomas Marnett Killed in Action

Was Reported Missing in Action Since March 30; Son-in-Law of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Therme.

Mrs. Kathrine Marnett and baby received word Wednesday that First Lt. Thomas Marnett had been killed in action in North Africa.

Mrs. Marnett will be remembered in Keosauqua as Kathrine Therme, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Therme who until recently lived in Keosauqua.

Mrs. Marnett and infant daughter Dian, who was born early in March, make their home with Mr. and Mrs. Therme at Mt. Pleasant.

It is not known if Lieut. Marnett ever learned of the birth of his daughter as word was sent through the Red Cross and it is believed that word did not reach him in time. He was reported missing in action in April and since that time the family had held hopes he would be found.
