A 77-year-old Ottumwa man died of head injuries received Sunday afternoon when a car fell on him.

Craig Miller of 105 Hill Ave. was working under the car when it apparently rolled off some concrete blocks at about 5 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Miller was a retired John Deere Ottumwa Works employee presently working for Kosman Brothers Home Improvement.

He was born at Hillsboro Dec. 24, 1899, to Presley and Sarah Stilwell Miller, lived in Ottumwa since 1939 and was a member of Empire Lodge No. 269, Clinton Chapter No. 9, Ottumwa Council No. 31, Malta Commandery No. 31, KAABA Shrine, White Shrine, Davenport Consistory, Ottumwa Consistory Club, Ottumwa Elks Lodge No. 347 and Izaak Walton League.

He married Ethel Lindeen on June 7, 1923, in Mount Pleasant. She survives.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Jay Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert F. Lehmann of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial: Spencer Cemetery near Stockport.

Masonic service: 7:30 Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial: to Masonic Lodge No. 269.
