Mrs. Lizzie Brewer

Lizzie G., daughter of Joseph and Janie Howell was born in Glasgow, Iowa, Nov. 4, 1860 and passed away at her home in Stockport at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 1948 at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 22 days.

On Sept. 26, 1880, she was married to W.H. Brewer and in the fall of 1887 they opened a hotel in Stockport which they operated for many years, later moving to Fairfield where they lived for 24 years.

After her husband's death the deceased returned to Stockport and established her residence to be near her daughter, Mrs. R.A. Workman.

She is survived by one son, Edgar Brewer of Portland, Oregon, and two daughters, Mrs. Emma Workman of Stockport and Mrs. Gladys Hodson of Mt. Pleasant, also 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Two daughters preceded her in death, one dying in infancy and Nora Ethel at the age of two years. Also surviving is one brother, Ben Howell of Kitchner, British Columbia.

Mrs. Brewer had been a member of the Christian church since girlhood and was an active member of the Stockport Christian Aid society which she enjoyed attending until her last illness which began nine months ago.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, at Stockport Christian church in charge of Rev. S.P. Williamson of Fairfield with burial in the Glasgow cemetery.
