BARBARA TIEDEMANN JACOBS

Barbara Tiedemann was born Aug. 17, 1859, at Burlington. She passed away Oct. 22, 1938, at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 5 days, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Story in Farmington.

In March of 1877 she was married to Louis Jacobs at Burlington. To this union were born five children, all of whom are living except one, a son, Clarence, who preceded his mother in death, as did her husband.

More than 35 years ago she moved from Burlington to Montrose where she has been a resident ever since until about a year ago. She has been in poor health for nearly two years and for the past year has made her home with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Elsie Story. One scarcely find words to describe the tenderness and patience with which she was cared for her aged mother. There was nothing that human hands could do that she left undone in the ceaseless effort to ease the suffering that attended her mother's illness and to break the monotony of the long weary hours in which she was confined to her bed.

Her unwavering faith in God was a constant source of comfort throughout her entire life and especially so during those last days that she was permitted to remain upon this earth.

She leaves to mourn her passing four daughters, Mrs. Sterling Bunker of Montrose, Mrs. James Moore of Montrose, Mrs. Everett Bunker of Muscatine and Mrs. Elsie Story of Farmington; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Louis and George Tiedemann both of Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Harvey Johnson of Hartford, Wash.; many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Montrose Methodist church, Rev. H.E. Butler, Rev. Stevens and Rev. Nicholson officiating. Interment in Montrose cemetery.
