A CHILD'S DEATH

In the death of Helen Juanita Davis, daughter of Clarence and Amanda Davis, which occurred at Bonaparte, Jan. 25, at 11:15 p.m., there passed from this world a brief but noteworthy life.

She was born Nov. 20, 1893, being at the time of her death five years, two months and five days of age, yet in that brief time she lived a comparatively long life. If we measure length of life by its fullness of noble experiences and its happy impressions left on its surroundings, instead of by mere number of days, then this brief life so obedient, so full of sunshine, love and melody was long indeed.

The funeral occurred from the M.E. church, Friday, Jan. 27, conducted by Rev. E. J. Smith

We would not call you back, dear Helen,
But we will go to thee;
With our baby and Redeemer,
We ever more shall be.

Methinks I see thy glad sweet face
Aglow with heaven's own light
Walking and talking with Jesus,
Enraptured with the glorious sight.

No more thy little feet grow weary,
As when they trod this path of Life.
No more shall thy baby heart be dreary,
As in this world of strife.

Yes, we'll meet you darling Helen,
One by one we're gathering home.
There we'll sing and praise forever,
Our Redeemer on His throne.
