STEPHEN BRYANT WALKER

Stephen Bryan Walker, son of George and Fanny Walker, was born near Stockport, Iowa, August 1, 1869, and passed away at his home near Pittsburg, Iowa, March 14, 1938, after a brief illness following four years of failing health, aged 68 years, 7 months and 13 days.

On Sept. 11, 1907, he was happily married to Mary Luella Pender, at Birmingham, Iowa. After a short time spent in Oklahoma they returned to Van Buren County, Iowa, where he spent the remainder of his life on a farm.

Mr. Walker united with the Methodist church at the age of 19 years and has always been a good neighbor, a true friend and an upright industrious, conscientious citizen, whose passing will be deeply mourned by all who knew him.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Phillips of Birmingham, and two brothers, Nelson and Albert of Cordell, Okla. These, together with a number of other relatives and a host of friends, mourn his departure.

The funeral services conducted by the Rev. C. Hugo Orf, pastor of the Keosauqua Methodist church, were held from Miller's Chapel Wednesday, March 16, 1938. Burial was in the cemetery at Miller's Chapel.
