MRS. OLIVER GUESS
Ollie Carribelle Freeman was born near Pittsburg, Iowa, on August 5, 1864, and passed away at her home in Vernon township southwest of Bonaparte on Friday afternoon, August 21, 1936, at 1:30 p.m. at the age of 72 years and 16 days.
She was united in marriage with Oliver Guess on July 12, 1885, and to this union eight children were born, three of whom preceded their parents to the beyond.
Surviving members of the family are the husband, age 80, and Mrs. Mabel Smith, Mrs. Myrtle Gaston and Miss Beulah Guess of Chicago, Mrs. Eleanor Muntz of Farmington, and Frank Guess of Ft. Des Moines. There are also nine grandchildren.
She was a member of the Story Chapel Methodist church, also been married 51 years, having celebrated their golden wedding July 12, 1935.
She had been a patient sufferer for several months and her children had been called to her bedside to do what they could to aid and comfort their loving mother.
The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at Center Chapel, the pastor, Rev. M. E. Hayes officiating. Interment in Center Chapel cemetery.
