Birmingham Enterprise
February 25, 1886
Doud Station.

The people of our village were startled last Wednesday morning by the report that Miss Eva McComb was dead. Friends hurried to the scene but it was all too true. Miss Eva seemed to be in good health, did not complain until a few minutes before her death, when she said she felt like she was smothering. He mother ran to a neighbors for assistance, Eva followed her into the hall and fell lifeless. Dr. McClure arrived in a few minutes, but life was extinct. Eva was a young lady highly respected by all her acquaintances; by her death Doud’s has lost one of her most popular young ladies. Her remains were taken, Friday, to a cemetery six miles north of Bonaparte, and were laid to rest by the side of her brother and sisters.

Rev. E.E. Doud and wife, of Mt. Union, and McComb [no first name stated] of Lebanon, were called here by the sudden death of their sister and niece. {I’m not certain the last paragraph is part of the article or not.]
