MRS. WILLIAM FRENCH

Mrs. William French, 73, died Sunday evening, Dec. 15, at her home in Ft. Madison after an illness of about five years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Ft. Madison with burial in Farmington cemetery.

The eldest child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Kelsey, she was born in Lee county near Farmington January 2, 1873. She was married to William French of Farmington April 17, 1894. They had lived for a number of years in Ft. Madison.

Surviving are the husband and four children, Valdean of Ft. Madison; Gerald W. of Vienna, Va.; Sidney F. of Hawthorn, Calif.; and Mrs. B.A. Chapin of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Burkland of Ottumwa, Mrs. Walter Hogan of Bonaparte, Mrs. John McIntosh of Rock Island, ill., and Mrs. John Hummell of Springfield, Mo. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Calvin Kelsey of Blooming Grove, Texas.
