George W. Mattern

George W. Mattern, well known merchant and banker, died Thursday morning, Nov. 14, at his home in Donnellson at the age of 89.

His health had been failing for several years. His daughter, Mrs. A.B. Epperson of Klamath Falls, Oregon, came to attend the funeral services.

Mr. Mattern for several years owned the Mattern Shoe Co. store in Bonaparte which was operated by Louis Saar in the room now used as a warehouse by Art Cummings grocery.
