DIED FROM STROKE WHILE SHOVELING SNOW

George Dowell, 85, died Sunday afternoon at his home in Washington, Iowa, following a heart attack suffered a few minutes earlier while shoveling snow from his sidewalks.

Born in Van Buren county, he was employed by the Rock Island railroad forty years and was conductor twenty years before his retirement.
