Jack W. Newlon, 82, of Keosauqua, passed away October 7, 2016, at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua, after battling cancer for 10 months. He was born June 14, 1934, in Van Buren County near Lebanon to Neil "Dick” and Myra McEldowney Newlon and married Judith Bartholomew April 15, 1960, in Kahoka, MO.

Jack graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1952 and was in the army from 1956 to 1958 where he was stationed in Germany for 17 months. He had worked at the Keosauqua Creamery and delivered milk from 1963 to 1980. He retired from Van Buren County Secondary Roads on July 8, 2016, and had been employed there since 1983.

In addition to his wife Judy of Keosauqua, he is survived by a daughter, Sheri Newlon (Mick Kite) of Keosauqua, a son, Douglas Newlon (Jenny Starnes) of Keosauqua, two granddaughters, Emme Newlon and Hannah McCarty (Renny), and their mother Natasha Newlon, two greatgrandchildren, Aubrey and Conrad McCarty, and two sisters, Mary Plowman of Smyrna, GA, and Delores McGrath of Birmingham. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Newlon, and a sister, Kathryn Relph.

Services were held October 11, 2016, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. Cremation followed the service. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Lebanon Cemetery, west of Keosauqua.
