A VETERAN DIES
**Handwritten: Borman

Chris Borman, a civil war veteran of Farmington, fell dead on the street last Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock, from heart failure. He was walking down Elm street and when in front of Sherrick's & Co. store, put out his hand and sank down. He was carried inside the store and placed upon the counter, where he died in a few moments.

Christian Borman was born in Brunswick, Germany and came to this country in 1855. In 1864 he enlisted in Company A. Fifty-seventh Indiana infantry. He had lived in or near Farmington for thirty-seven years. He was a member of the Miles King Post, G.A.R., and every year attended the state encampment. Funeral services were held Friday.
