DANIEL FARON.

Daniel Faron died of pneumonia at his home in Keosauqua, Iowa, Sunday morning, April 23, 1899, aged 69 years, 2 months and 8 days. He was born near Philadelphia, Pa., Feb. 15, 1830, and came to Keosauqua in 1842, which since was his home. He leaves a wife, three children and three step-children. He united with the M.E. church at this place 35 years ago, and became a member of the Odd Fellows' lodge here in 1872, and to both church and lodge he was a faithful member until the end. The funeral was held at the Christian church Tuesday, the 25th, at 2 o'clock, and was in charge of the Odd Fellows, Rev. R. L. Patterson, his pastor, preaching, Eld. G.A. Hendrickson delivering the obituary address. the body was buried in the Purdom cemetery. Daniel Faron was a good man. He was honest with himself, with humanity and with his God, and that is the fullest type of man. More could not be said of him - more could not be said of anyone. On Wednesday just after noon the writer talked with him in the post office. He was not well then. That night he went to bed for the last time and Sunday morning following he died. For some time previous he had not been strong in body and when inflammation of the lungs developed death soon followed. He will be missed - missed in the church, missed in the lodge, missed in the community, and especially by the wife who so long was his faithful and loving companion.
