John J. Wilson

John J. Wilson, son of James and Mary Burns, was born near Green Valley, Illinois, July 8, 1860 and died at Stockport, Iowa, October 14, 1930, having reached the age of seventy years.

He was one of a family of eight children all of whom have preceded him in death except Miss Sadie S. Wilson of Oakland, California.

On Feb. 14, 1888, he was united in marriage with Mary E. Brownlee who survives him and now lies seriously ill at her home in Stockport.

To this union were born three children, Olive Rigsby of Keosauqua; Edna Pickard of Stockport and James H. Wilson of Paris, Ontario.

He also leaves to mourn him three grandchildren, Ruth and June Pickard and Donald Wilson, besides many relatives and friends.

While yet a young man he united the Christian church at Malone, Illinois, later transferring his membership to the Keosauqua church.

On the fifteenth of Sept., he was stricken with a light attack of paralysis which gradually grew worse until Saturday October 11, when his son was summoned from Canada arriving a short time before his death.

A kind and loving father a good neighbor will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Funeral services were held Wed., Oct. 15 at the Keosauqua Christian church in charge of Rev. C.V. Allison of Fairfield. Burial was in Fellows cemetery near Keosauqua.
