Former Keosauqua Kills Himself.

News was received here this week of the death, December 13, of Edward Ormsby, at Oakdale, California. The deceased was born at Keosauqua in 1849, and for a number of years had a barber shop here. He went to California about 16 years ago. Not long after leaving here he and his wife separated. She married her brother-in-law, and a few years ago his daughter, now 25, married a wealthy ranchman. Deceased lived alone. At 3 o'clock Monday morning a minister who lived next door heard a pistol shot, and at 10 o'clock the body was found. He had placed the weapon to his mouth and shot himself. The funeral on Wednesday following was largely attended.

The deceased had a keen and active mind, and under entirely favorable conditions would no doubt have been a prominent citizen. He was a brother to Mrs. C.C. Cone and Mrs. W.L. Corsen of this place.
